Jon (Jonny Bo) Bohlender, 60, of Turlock, passed away Saturday.  Born in Turlock, he was adopted by two of the greatest people, Drs. I.N. and Irene Bohlender.

Jon graduated from Turlock High in 1970 and attended MJC.  At age 21 he began bartending in night clubs and went on to work as a bar manager for almost 30 years. 

Jon was blessed with many special friends in his life.  He was married for 22 years to Kathy Brewster and raised three wonderful children.  They are LeeAnn Tavares, Shannon Rubalcava, and Chace Bohlender.  He was blessed with grandchildren, Dominic and Dawnya, Peter and Jessica, and Christian and Julian.  Jon also took under his wing his nephew, Gordon Brewster, who he considered a son.  Jon also leaves his mother, Irene Bohlender Collins, one brother, Brent (Julie) Bohlender, and their two children, and one sister, Diane Thomas, and her daughter.  He was preceded in death by his father, I. N. Bohlender, in 1973. 

Jon wished to express a special thanks to his caretaker, Deena Reed, as well as a very special woman, Beth Magalong, who brought him much joy and happiness during the last six years of his life. 

A funeral will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at Turlock Funeral Home, 425 N. Soderquist Rd., Turlock.  Interment will follow at Turlock Memorial Park. 

Jon’s family wishes to invite all of his friends to share memories, dinner, and music at the American Legion Hall, 75 Bothun Rd., Turlock.
