Davene Carden “Dee” Ogilbee

Feb. 13, 1929 – Dec. 12, 2012

Devoted and loving wife, daughter, mother and grandmother, Dee was called to eternal rest in the bosom of her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 12, 2012, in Sacramento, CA.  Born to David and Venna (Smyers) Carden on February 13, 1929, in Hastings, Oklahoma,   Davene never lost her “Okie” accent or a taste for her mother’s delicious southern cooking.  Dee married Clarence Ogilbee on his birthday, September 10, 1949.  Following the births of their three children, they moved to Southern California, then to Montana, before settling in Turlock.  Dee loved her career as a school bus driver.  She retired as a driver from Turlock public schools.  In 2008, Dee and Clarence moved to Sacramento to be closer to their daughter.  Pre-deceased by her parents and husband, Dee is survived by her children David (Huifang), Stephen (Karen,) and Lyssa, with her “other” daughter, Sandy, foster-daughter, Dolores, grandchildren, David (Abbie,) Jessica, Lilly, great-grandson, Sean and several cousins.  Services will be held on Wednesday, December 19, at 2 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial, 3030 Fruitridge Dr. Sacramento, CA.
