A Merced High School alumna, Class of 1948, Beth graduated from Pasadena College in 1953. She married Jim Smith in 1953 in Merced. They had two daughters, Andrea Morse and Alyssa Hernandez. She is survived by her daughters, two son-in-laws, six grandchildren, and three great grandchildren.
Beth attended what is now called Connecting Point Church of the Nazarene. She was a member for over 50 years, working with youth and seniors; serving as missionary vice president; she also had a gift for planning banquet events that all enjoyed.
As an elementary school teacher she worked at Julien Elementary School from 1960-1968. When she retired, she and her husband turned their hobby of ceramics into a successful business, showcasing their arts and crafts all over the Central Valley. Beth was also a member with the Turlock Skandifest for several years.
She was loved and admired by family and friends.
Service will be Monday, Jan. 7 2013 at Connecting Point Church of the Nazarene in Denair at 2:00p.m.
