POSTED June 16, 2017 7:33 p.m.

Manuel Dutra Macedo, Jr. was born in Turlock, California on December 25, 1946.  He passed away June 11, 2017, taken swiftly from a very courageous battle with cancer, at age 70.

Manuel learned hard work at an early age being born on a farm; besides working on the family farm he also worked for many neighbors. He graduated from Keyes Grammar School, Turlock High School and Modesto Junior College. He was a mechanic for most of his adult life, taking time to be a Mac tool salesman for 12 years, then back to cranking a wrench and opening his own shop, Denair Smog and Repair, in 2005.

Manuel closed the business in 2015 and became a gentleman farmer again, but still fixed cars at home.  He was a person of his word, and kept all the family’s cars running. His biggest delights were hunting and fishing. He loved being at his deer hunting club with all of his buddies, especially with his cousin Clyde. Manuel’s family was his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents Mary and Manuel Macedo; nephews Tom Perry and Isaac Mannon.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years Judy; son Neil Macedo; daughter Lena Piehler; 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; sister Anita Mccabe; brother in law Tim Holveck and family; many many nieces and nephews which he considered as his own children; 2 aunts and many cousins.

Burial will be at 11 am on Monday June 19, 2017 at Denair Cemetery.  Celebration of life will be at Allen Mortuary, 247 N Broadway in Turlock, CA at 1:00pm also on Monday June 19th.  Please share your memories at www.AllenMortuary.com
