Jose Inacio Teixeira

Jose Inacio Teixeira, 72, of Stevinson, died Tuesday in Modesto. He was born in 1938 in Santo Antao, Topo, Sao Jorge, Azores. He was a dairyman for years and a member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church of Turlock. 
He is survived by his sons, Antonio Ries and his wife, Maria, of Atwater, Jose Duarte Ries Teixeira and his wife, Maria, of Turlock and Manuel Tiburcio Reis and his wife, Rosa, of Lodi; daughters, Maria Lacalete Brasil and her husband, Manuel, of Los Banos, Maria de Lourdes Belo and her husband, Antonio, of Orlando, Aurelia Teixeira Silva and her husband, Paulo, of Stevinson and Ana Margarida Teixeira of Stevinson; sisters, Maria de Fatima Sousa and Zulmira Vieira of Sao Jorge, Azores; and 17 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Maria Candida Ries on Jan. 5, 1999.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel. Rosary/Vigil will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, April 18 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Funeral Chapel, 286 West Main St., Turlock. A Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, April 19 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church, 2602 S. Walnut, Turlock. Burial will be at N. Hilmar Cemetery.
