Florence Ethel Moore

Florence Moore, 97, of Santa Rosa, passed away at Vintage Brush Creek Assisted Living Care Center in Santa Rosa. 
She was born in Turlock to Louis and Ethel Domecq and was the last survivor of their 10 children. Florence grew up in Denair and married Donald Moore of Denair. They lived to Richmond during the years when their three children were born. Later they moved to Whittier. Throughout those years Florence was active in PTA, YMCA and sang in Methodist church choirs. Florence was also one of the founders of the Mulberry Tree Nursery School in the 1960s. In 1974 they moved to Little River, Calif. where she remained active in the community. Florence enjoyed singing, dancing; she played the piano, entertained guests, volunteered for the Mendocino Community Library and Study Club. Florence and Don also travelled extensively, visiting every continent except India and Antarctica. She was active as a swimmer, bowler, and golfer in addition to reading.
Florence is survived by daughters, Patricia Moore of Santa Rosa and Joan Moore of Little River; son, Carl Andrew Moore of Little River; three grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her siblings, and by her husband Donald in 2000.
A private service has been held to honor Florence. Memorials may be considered for the Mendocino County Library or the Mendocino Coast District Hospital.
