Maria do Coracao de Jesus Costa, 91, of Hilmar, died Thursday in Turlock. She was born in 1920 in Doze Ribeiras, Terceira, Azores. She was a homemaker for 50 years and a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church of Hilmar.

She is survived by her sons, Joe Costa of Hilmar and John Costa and his wife, Maria de Lourdes, of Hilmar; daughter, Mary C. Alves and her husband, Valdemar, of Turlock; sister, Milagres Rocha of Doze Ribeiras, Azores; grandchildren, Steve Alves, Jason Alves, Shane Costa, Julia Arms, Gabriela Costa and Liza Rodrigues; and nine great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvarino Costa in 1996.

Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 9 at Whitehurst, Norton & Dias Chapel, 286 W. Main St., Turlock. Rosary will take place at 7 p.m. at the same location. A funeral Mass is scheduled for 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 10 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 20263 American Ave., Hilmar. Burial will be at Turlock Memorial Park.
