Carol Hardie, 67, of Turlock, passed away unexpectedly at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
Carol was born in Modesto to Curtis and Mamie Vaughn. She grew up in Turlock and graduated from Turlock High School in 1961. She married the love of her life, Alden Hardie, in 1961. They moved to Medford, Ore. for several years and returned to the Central Valley in 1965. They lived in this Valley, between Sacramento and Fresno, ever since. Carol was active in church her entire adult life. Her life revolved around her family. She found great joy in making her home a place where her family would want to be.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents; and by her husband, Alden. She is survived by her children, Alison (Don) Childress of So. Lake Tahoe, Calif., Stephen (Rebecca) Hardie of Turlock and David (Myra) Hardie of Turlock; brothers, Bob Vaughn of Medford, Ore. and Larry Vaughn of Long Barn, Calif.; sister, Chyrle See of Turlock; and seven grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18 at Allen Mortuary.
