Fred was born in Cullowhee, NC and raised in Sedro-Woolley, WA. He is survived by his wife Susan; mother Margaret; sister Mary (Bill) Johnson; son Jeff; daughter Kim Benefield; "sons" Greg Sherman, Mark Baker, Rick Tarr, Randall Franklin, Gerald Franklin, Terry Franklin, Floyd Franklin; and daughter Julie Moffre; 25 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Fred never met a stranger. He was loving and generous to all he met, and the greatest father to all his children.
