The Salvation Army Turlock Corps is not only a church and Christian outreach organization, it is also a safe place for children and adults to gather. A place for after-school activities, senior meals, and youth basketball games. The Salvation Army building on Lander Avenue houses many other non-profit and social services agencies, and also provides a space for the annual community Christmas dinner.

Those in need of food, clothes, and spiritual nurturing are always welcome at the Salvation Army and for that and a plethora other reasons, it was named the Turlock Journal 2012 Readers' Choice for best community organization.
