Harder's: Continuing a Turlock print shop tradition

Donna and Tim Pierce have owned Harder's Print Shop since 1997. Harder's first opened its doors in downtown Turlock in 1919.

When Harder’s Print Shop, Inc. first opened its doors in 1919 it was churning out paper products from a letterpress. Now, 93 years later, an array of printing jobs rolls out of the modern presses. The equipment used at the Turlock shop may have gone through major overhauls, but the commitment to top-notch quality products and excellent customer service has never wavered.

It’s those values that have earned Harder’s Print Shop the Turlock Journal’s Readers' Choice for best print/copy shop.

“We’re really honored that the readers have selected us,” said Donna Pierce, who along with her husband Tim, have owned the print shop since 1997. “I’ve seen businesses in the past with the Readers' Choice symbol hanging up and thought, ‘I want that for our business.’ It’s really great to be recognized for our work and customer service.”

Founded by Frank Harder in 1919, Harder’s Print Shop is one of the oldest businesses in Turlock. Donna Pierce’s parents, Morrison and Wilma Elliott, purchased the business in 1965 and ink has been running in the family ever since.

Harder’s Print Shop offers services that includes print and copy services, graphic design, carbonless forms, business cards, invitations, banners, programs, T-shirt transfers, certificates and tickets.

“We pretty much do anything on paper — big and small jobs alike,” Donna Pierce said.

Harder’s Print Shop is located at 132 S. Broadway. They can be reached at 634-5456 or at harders.jobs@yahoo.com.
