History of business: For downtown women’s boutique Pretty Please’s married co-owners, Rene and Tannia Pretty, running their shop is more than just a job. It’s a longstanding passion, turned into a profession.

“We were into fashion,” said Rene Pretty. “It just made sense.”

While the business has done well locally in its first year, Pretty Please has seen even bigger success online. Through sites such as Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram, the shop’s looks have gained traction – and buyers – from around the world.

“People go crazy for it on Instagram,” Rene Pretty said.

According to Rene Pretty, the store has shipped orders across the country, to customers in New York and Florida alike. The small Turlock shop has even shipped orders internationally, to as far away as the United Kingdom and Spain.

Business specialty: Pretty Please specializes in the newest looks, staying on top of all the latest fashion trends.

But Rene Pretty emphasized that the store has something for everyone, and welcomes shoppers of all ages. The store stocks a wide range of apparel, accessories and shoes, including a custom-made line of Pretty Please-branded merchandise.
