Salvation Army bell ringer Burt Gilpin got a little help from his grandson and a few musical friends to make spirits brighter on Christmas Eve in front of the Raley's supermarket.
The volunteers played live music from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. as shoppers streamed by and occasional dropped a donation in the iconic red bucket.
“Raley’s is a good place to play our music,” said Gilpin. “People get to enjoy the music while they're doing their last minute shopping. The generosity from the people in Turlock is amazing.”
