Gasoline prices have jumped approximately 12 cents per gallon at Turlock stations within the past week, averaging $3.52 per gallon, as of Tuesday. Comparatively, the average cost of a gallon of unleaded gas fell to $3.36 nationally, according to GasBuddy.com.

Despite historic price drops after the busy holiday traveling season, AAA  Senior Petroleum Analyst Patrick DeHaan believes that increases will continue.

“You should still be expecting a slight increase. But then again, it depends on where you live. Anything north of San Francisco is not quite as significant as Southern California,” said DeHaan.

But then again, DeHaan doesn’t realize that many San Francisco 49er fans will be traveling to Colin Kaepernick’s hometown to watch the game at local bars.

Gasoline should be in moderate demand this weekend, and prices are expected to rise in Turlock.

Traveling sales representative Kevin Harrlock plans to fill up his gas tank during the middle of the week to keep away from large lines and high prices.

“$3.69 per gallon is more than I want to spend on gas, but at least it makes the world move. You have to weigh your options. If it is worth the time and the money you spend getting where you are going, that is the most important thing,” said Harrlock.

In Stanislaus County, gas prices rose from an average of $3.38 a gallon one month ago to $3.52 on Tuesday.

Gasoline prices now average $3.70/g in California according to GasBuddy.com.  Approximately one year ago, gas prices ranged just below $3.67/g, a 30 cent increase over last year.

In Turlock, prices range low to moderate depending on the station. The cheapest gas in town can be found for $3.35/ g at ARCO on the corner of Lander and Glenwood avenues.
