Road Work Report

POSTED February 26, 2013 5:32 p.m.

Caltrans has construction and closures planned for the following areas this week:

• The northbound and southbound on and off-ramps on Highway 99 from the Turlock Rest Area to Hammett Road will alternately close from 7 p.m. until 9 a.m. Saturday.

• The center and right lanes, and right shoulder on Highway 99 from Taylor Road to the Stanislaus/San Joaquin County line will close from 7 p.m. until 10 a.m. through Saturday.

Motorists should expect 30 minute delays.  Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

Caltrans will permanently close eastbound Sandy Mush Road from Highway 99 to Plainsburg Road at 8 p.m. Thursday. Eastbound and westbound traffic will be rerouted onto Plainsburg Road.

The closures are part of the $118.7 million SR-99 Plainsburg Road Freeway Project which began in December 2012.  The project will construct a new interchange at Plainsburg Road and convert a four-lane expressway to a six-lane freeway from the Madera County line to Buchanan Hollow Road in Merced County.  The project received $108 million from Proposition 1B.
