The Turlock Police Department is investigating a carjacking that occurred Friday night.

The victim reported the carjacking shortly before midnight Friday in the 400 block of High Street.

The victim told the officers he had been driving on High Street when his vehicle was suddenly surrounded by four to five Hispanic men.

The victim said he realized the suspects were after his car and he ran from them.

Some of the suspects chased after the victim, but he was able to get away and call police, said Turlock Police Lt. Carl Nielsen.

The car was found in a nearby alley partially stripped. No suspect information was available.
