A Livingston man was jailed Sunday morning on multiple charges including stalking his former girlfriend and vandalizing her car outside her Delhi home.

Jeff Meneses, 25, was booked on charges of stalking, felony evading law enforcement, felony vandalism, possession of marijuana, committing a felony while out on bail, resisting arrest and making terrorist threats. He remains jailed in lieu of a $307,100 bail, said Merced County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Deputy Tom MacKenzie.

The victim contacted the sheriff’s department around 6:30 a.m. Sunday and said Meneses was stalking her and was currently parked behind her house in the 9000 block of Hillside Drive in Delhi.

When Deputy Adam Leuchner arrived, Meneses took off in his vehicle in a pursuit which lasted only a few minutes, MacKenzie said.

 Meneses sped in circles through the neighborhood before pulling into the driveway of the victim’s residence. He then got out of his car with a baseball bat and began smashing the windows out of the victim’s car, MacKenzie said.

Meneses was taken into custody after being struck by a Taser when he failed to comply with deputies’ orders.

Meneses was arrested twice in May — once for failing to yield on a traffic stop and once for throwing objects at moving vehicles with the intent to injure, MacKenzie said.
