Assault victim found in abandoned barn

The Turlock Police Department is investigating a violent assault that left a man in critical condition from injuries to the head.

The victim, identified as a man in his 30s, was found in a vacant barn in the 200 block of Third Street. The locale is directly behind United Samaritans.

It’s unknown if the assault occurred where the man was found or in another location.

The injured man was found early Thursday morning and his discovery was reported to the Turlock Police Department. The man was rushed to an area hospital with severe head injuries and remains in critical condition, according to Turlock Detective Jason Tosta.

The investigation into the attack is ongoing and there have been no details released about how the incident transpired.

No suspect information has been released.
