Armed man toting toy gun, real drugs

POSTED November 6, 2012 7:37 p.m.

What was initially reported as a man walking alongside a Turlock road armed with a rifle, turned out to be a man carrying a large, plastic Nerf gun.

The man stilled ended up under arrest because he was found in possession of methamphetamine.

Around 7:30 a.m. Monday a caller reported to the Turlock Police Department of seeing a man wearing a trench coat and holding a rifle walking along West Avenue South.

The man, identified by the police department t as 33-year-old Ryan Stocker, was located in the area by police officers, who discovered that the rifle was actually just a toy.

Unfortunately for Stocker, he was on probation and eligible for search. Officers found him in possession of methamphetamine.

Stocker was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail for the narcotics charge.
