Shoplifter should have had a list

A Turlock man attempting to steal merchandise from a Target store for the second time on the same day, ended up under arrest after officers tracked him to his home.

Demetrious Montoya, 24, allegedly stole merchandise from target on Tuesday. According to the Turlock Police Department, Montoya returned to the store on Countryside Drive Tuesday afternoon and stole additional items.

As Montoya was leaving the store he was confronted by officers, but ignored their orders to stop and fled the area on foot.

Montoya is not unknown to Turlock officers and has been on probation for various offenses, according to Stanislaus County Superior Court records.

Officers went to Montoya’s residence and took him into custody on charges of commercial burglary, resisting arrest and a parole violation.

A search of Montoya’s residence turned up the stolen merchandise, according to the police department.
