Turlock Police have made a second arrest in the fatal hit and run collision that resulted in the death of a Delhi woman.

Investigators arrested Natasha Titsworth, 20, of Delhi as an accessory after the fact, Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Mayra Lewis said.

Titsworth was the registered owner of the Chevy Malibu involved in the collision that killed 18-year-old Taylor Vessel on Nov. 3, 2012. Titsworth was seen in a surveillance video with the suspected driver of her car just prior to the collision. Titsworth initially tried to report the vehicle stolen, and then refused to cooperate with the investigation whatsoever, Lewis said. She also refused to identify the person with her in the video. 

The District Attorney’s Office named her as a co-defendant on Wednesday and a warrant of arrest was issued. Investigators took her into custody without incident at Turlock Police Department. She is currently being held at the Public Safety Center in lieu of $25,000 bail. 

The driver of the vehicle, Jose Jesus Aguilar, 19, of Delhi, was arrested Sunday night at a home in the 500 block of Angelus Street. According to the police report Aguilar tried to hide in a closet, but was located and taken into custody.

Vessel died Nov. 3 after the car she was riding in struck a tree and a home on Lander Avenue while attempting to elude a police officer. Witnesses saw a man running from the scene seconds after it crashed into the Lander Avenue home. Vessel died at the scene of the crash.

Aguilar was booked into the Stanislaus County Jail on a felony charge of vehicular manslaughter with gross negligence and a felony charge of hit and run causing permanent injury or death. He remains in custody in lieu of a $60,000 bail. He has a court appearance scheduled for Friday.
