Woman drives into accident scene; gets DUI

A Turlock woman was arrested on the suspicion of driving under the influence after she crashed through a barricade at the site of a fatal accident Tuesday night.

Turlock police officers had cordoned off an area around W. Monte Vista Avenue and N. Walnut Road around 9 p.m. Tuesday while investigating a fatal collision and remained at the scene for several hours.

According to the police report, 50-year-old Marie Harter was on Walnut Road shortly before 1 a.m. Wednesday and drove through a traffic barricade and through several traffic cones.

Officers investigating the accident scene stopped Harter and found her to be under the influence, according to the police report.

She was arrested and later released with a citation for driving under the influence, the police department reported.
