Vanguard Cadets Corps marches through Denair

POSTED June 24, 2011 7:17 p.m.

The Santa Clara Vanguard Cadets Corps, a world-renowned world champion youth marching and performance band based in Santa Clara, practiced their routine at the Denair High School football stadium on Thursday night before heading to a competition in Clovis on Friday. This is the second year in a row the Vanguard Cadets have used the Denair stadium to practice their routine. Corps Director Robert Nieves said the Denair community and school district is incredibly supportive and welcoming.

“The stadium is a good facility and the press box is higher than most high school stadiums so it allows us a good vantage point to see what we are doing,” said Nieves.

Cadets and staff bunked in the Denair gym and classrooms on campus.
