CSU Stanislaus offers new Veterans Center

POSTED September 14, 2012 7:27 p.m.

Former U.S. service members and their family members have a new place to hang out on the California State University, Stanislaus campus: the new Veterans Center, located in the Student Services Building.

The center will serve the more than 350 veteran students at CSU Stanislaus, offering a one-stop shop for academic and student support services to promote a smooth transition from the military. The center also offers assistance for veterans’ benefits, deployments, information, and referrals, as well as a place for study groups and social activities.

CSU Stanislaus has been nationally recognized for its polices to aide American service members. The online publication G.I. Jobs included the university in its 2012 list of Military Friendly Schools, and Military Advance Education named the university to its 2012 Guide to Top Military-Friendly Colleges and Universities. The college offers veterans priority registration, one-on-one advising, and other services.
