California State University, Stanislaus opened its doors and knowledge to the public on Saturday in a celebration of science. Hundreds of families explored the wonder and diversity of life at all levels, as well as physics and geology. Science Day featured themed activities for kids like kitchen chemistry and the Six-Legged Zoo, along with open labs and guided tours of the university's science facilities that included the campus planetarium.

“My kids had a blast,” said Turlock resident Cindy Fox.  “I can’t wait to take my kids back next year.”

There was plenty to see and touch at the second annual event held at the Naraghi Hall of Science.  Kids were able to get hands-on with skeletons, fossils and snakes while learning the fields of sciences.  The greenhouse was a big hit as people toured through the area and learned about plants.

Science Day was planned by four campus student organizations: The Pre-Health Society, American Chemistry Society Club, Biology Club, and Society of Physics Students.
