Brandon Crawford, a senior at Pitman High School, was recently awarded a $2500 scholarship from the Modesto Symphony Guild.  The scholarship is to be used to further his college education when he attends the University of Missouri- Kansas City (UMKC) next fall.
Crawford, son of Todd and Cheryl Crawford of Turlock, has been studying the clarinet since fifth grade. The Pitman senior has also participated in the Stanislaus County Honor band, All-Northern Honor band, and All-State Honor band.  As a member of Modesto Symphony Youth Orchestra, Crawford has been principle clarinet for two years. Crawford plans to major in clarinet performance at UMKC.
