Hilmar lineman added to All-Star team

Former Hilmar High defensive lineman/linebacker Trent Goiburn has been recently added to the lineup for the 38th annual Central California Lions All-Star Football Game on June 18 in Stockton, as he will be a part of the South team that is coached by Turlock High’s James Peterson.

The annual event — which is a collection of the best seniors in the area from last season — will be held at 7 p.m. at the University of Pacific’s Stagg Memorial. It will also boast a handful of talent from the Turlock area.

Joining Goiburn on the field will be Turlock’s Ricky Fuentes (running back/defensive back/wide receiver) and Connor Pearson (tight end/linebacker). Along with Peterson, they were a part of perhaps the greatest turnaround in school history. After a 0-10 season, the Bulldogs compiled an 8-3 record with a postseason appearance.
