Locals to collide in all-star football contest

POSTED June 21, 2011 10:10 p.m.

Now that the Central California Lions All-Star Football Game is over, it’s time for another all-star gathering.

The 26th North/South Rotary All-Star Game will be held at Chowchilla High on Friday at 7:45 p.m., with seven of the players on the North team having Turlock ties. One of the athletes is Turlock High’s Ricky Fuentes, who participated in last weekend’s Lions All-Star game in Stockton.

For this one, he will be joined by former Turlock teammates Dominic Goodwin and Kaze Villarial. Jamie Lemus (Pitman High) and Trevor Werner (Denair High) are the lone representatives for their schools, while Hilmar High boasts two all-stars in Luke Brindeiro and Devin Azevedo.
