TC volleyball upsets higher-seed Forest Lake

POSTED November 8, 2011 11:30 p.m.

The Turlock Christian High volleyball team swept Forest Lake Christian High, 25-21, 25-15, 25-21, in Auburn as they advance to the quarterfinals of the Sac-Joaquin Section playoffs to face Ripon Christian High on Thursday.
The Eagles came from behind in the first and third sets thanks to the help of Sarah Amaral, who led the team in scoring with 12 kills. In addition, Rebecca Muller provided 15 assists and Arin Morelli added 29 digs to help secure the win for the Eagles. Kate Farrar and Anna Larson were also team leaders with three aces and one block, respectively.
“The girls were awesome,” Turlock Christian coach Keith Landmeier said.
Now the Eagles must direct their focus on Ripon Christian, who has beat them twice this year.
“If we play like we did tonight and come together as team we will give them a run for their money,” Turlock Christian assistant coach Ken Wynne said.
