Turlock golf records another win

POSTED October 2, 2012 10:32 p.m.

Turlock earned some retribution on Tuesday, beating the Merced High team that spoiled their potentially undefeated season earlier in the year 215-235.

The Bulldogs (6-1 CCC) bested the Bears through nine holes at the Turlock Golf and Country Club as Hannah Gong once again shot well with a score of 41. The story of the day was Kelsi Valenzuela, however, who nailed a hole-in-one on the 160 yard, par three, fourth hole. The shot proved to be the turning point in the match.

“Now we have our foot on their throats so we’re going to have to finish strong,” Turlock’s head coach Mary Krupka said.

Valenzuela and teammate Sofie Bates finished with scores of 42 and were followed closely by Gabby Singh with 44.
