Warriors fall to No. 10 UC San Diego

The No. 10 ranked UC San Diego women's volleyball team remains undefeated as the Tritons bested Cal State Stanislaus in straight sets, 25-22, 25-23, 25-10.

The Warriors did put up a strong effort, behind the leadership of captain Lianne Vicchio, before falling to 6-3 overall and 2-3 in the California Collegiate Athletic Association. UC San Diego is now 9-0 and 5-0 in the CCAA.

Vicchio led the Warriors with 16 kills and 13 digs. Eva Chafeh and Jennifer Marsh each chipped in six kills. Jessica Lehner had 33 assists. Madison Moss and Kayle Giles each had 14 digs.

The Warriors offense hit a decent .203 clip.

For UCSD, Hillary Williamson led with 18 kills while as a team the Tritons were .228 on the attack. UCSD, however, had 10 service aces.

Cal State Stanislaus travels to face another undefeated team in No. 3 Cal State San Bernardino (10-0, 5-0 CCAA) today.
