Warrior earns all-conference honors

POSTED October 25, 2011 11:17 p.m.

Marina Ghabbour was the top Warrior woman as Cal State Stanislaus women’s cross country team finished fifth in a very tight team competition at Saturday’s California Collegiate Athletic Association Championships in Santa Rosa.
Ghabbour, a redshirt sophomore from Oceanside, led the Warriors with a 15th place finish — good enough for all-CCAA honors. She ran a personal best time of 21 minutes, 58.7 seconds. Alia Gray of Chico State was the conference champion in a time of 21:07.1.
Sonoma State hosted the championships that were held at Spring Lake Park.

On the men’s side, Stanislaus junior and Pitman High graduate Kanwar Dhaliwal finished 17th, just two spots out of an all-conference award, with a time of 26:39.3 to help the Warriors to a sixth-place team finish.
