Warriors volleyball ends season with victory

The Cal State Stanislaus volleyball team wrapped up its 2011 season on a high note with a commanding three-set win over Cal State Dominguez Hills on Friday. The Warriors won 25-18, 25-19, 25-15.
In her career finale, Lianne Vicchio had 14 kills and nine digs to lead Stanislaus as the Warriors end the season with 10-16 overall, 6-16 California Collegiate Athletic Association records.
Lauren Charles, another Warrior senior, had 11 digs to lead the team's defensive effort. Kayla Giles also had seven digs. Eva Chafeh had 10 kills and three block assists to pace Stanislaus. Jessica Lehner had 24 assists for Stanislaus.
Cal State Stanislaus was prolific on its attack with a .306 attacking percentage. Chafeh led with a .474 average, going 10 for 19 with just one error. Vicchio attacked 28 times with 14 kills and five errors.
Vicchio finishes her career with 1,383 kills and 1,225 digs.
Elizabeth Krieger led Cal State Dominguez Hills with eight kills as the Toros remain winless this season during conference play. CSUDH is 1-24 overall and 0-21 in the CCAA before finishing the year at Chico State today.
