Warriors earn CCAA accolades

Two Cal State Stanislaus athletes were named Player of the Week in their respective sports for the week of Aug. 27 to Sept. 2.
Karenee Demery was selected as the Wilson/CCAA Women's Soccer Player of the Week. Demery had an extremely hot start to the 2012 season, scoring four goals in the Warriors 2-0 road trip this past weekend.
After scoring her first goal on Thursday in the Warriors 3-0 win over St. Martin's, the junior forward recorded her second career hat trick in 3-0 shutout win over Simon Fraser on Sunday.
Wrapping up the first weekend of play, Demery tallied eight points and a .500 (8-for-14) shot-on-goal percentage.
Marina Ghabbour was named the CCAA Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week. Ghabbour ran a stellar race at the USF Invitational hosted in San Francisco on Saturday. Finishing 15th overall in the 5K race with a time of 18:19.8, Ghabbour was able to lead Cal State Stanislaus women's cross country team to finish third overall behind Division I University of California-Berkeley
