Warriors kick off season with clinics, fun activities

The Cal State Stanislaus men’s and women’s soccer programs and the Turlock Youth Soccer Association held a successful Kickoff Carnival last weekend with clinics and activities for all ages.

Youth soccer players, fans and community members came out to Warrior Stadium on Saturday and participated in the second annual Kickoff Carnival, presented by the Turlock Youth Soccer Association and Cal State Stanislaus men's and women's soccer programs.
In cooperation with the City of Turlock Parks and Recreation Department, the Kickoff Carnival signaled the start of the soccer season for all levels.
The event featured fun activities for sports enthusiasts of all ages, including bounce houses, a dunk tank, face painting, a climbing wall and other carnival games, as well as music and entertainment. Area coaches participated in a clinic with Dana Taylor, the Stanislaus men's soccer coach. The Turlock Tornados also conducted a players' clinic.
TYSA and Stanislaus collected canned food donations to support the local food banks.
The Warriors began their preseason practices this week, with the first regular season women's game set for Sept. 1 against Central Washington in Turlock. The men's team kicks off on Sept. 2 against Fresno Pacific in Turlock.
