Quad drag racers, motorcycle freestylers highlight weekend events

Quad drag racers were part of a two-part event on Sunday evening in FoodMaxx Arena at the Stanislaus County Fair.

POSTED July 19, 2011 10:19 p.m.

Sunday night’s crowd at FoodMaxx Arena at the Stanislaus County Fair experienced two unique motorsports. One did damage on the ground, the other did it in the air.

When quad drag racers of all ages weren’t tearing up the dirt, motorcycle freestylers turned the sky into a gymnastic canvas with their air stunts. The latter group displayed a bevy of tricks, all while fans urged for more by screaming at the top of their lungs.

The quad drag racers competed on a 200-foot long track, with the first one to cross the finish line moving into the next round until there was a winner in each class from pee wee to adults.
