We need a Kaepernick Day parade

POSTED January 22, 2013 10:57 p.m.

I would like to suggest that the City of Turlock have a “Colin Kaepernick Day” that includes a parade down Main Street, with Kaep as the Grand Marshall and his parents riding in a car behind him. I believe this would show Kaep just how proud Turlock is of him. I’m quite sure that some of his team mates would come to Turlock with him.

I don’t think that it would be that hard to get it together. Wouldn't it be fun to get the Pitman Pride varsity and junior varsity football and baseball teams for 2005 and 2006 back together for this parade?  I would even include Turlock High teams, youth football, Little League and Senior League Baseball, too.

So Turlock what do you think? Who wants to take a stand for this day to honor our hometown boy?

I live in Fort Lauderdale, FL now where I teach. Most of my friends had never heard about Turlock, but now they are asking about the town and Kap. It's about time Turlock was famous from something beside Medic Alert.

I think a parade is a great idea...but he's pretty busy right now! Check out what Turlock Education Foundation's got going on next Saturday at Pitman High School! www.turlockedfoundation.org/turlockbelieves #turlockbelieves
