Annual quilt show to display local talent, honor U.S. veterans

The Turlock Quilt Guild will be showing its colors on Feb. 18 and 19 at its annual quilt show. The “Stars Among Us” themed show will feature a special presentation to United States veterans by Quilts of Honor. The presentation of quilts to veterans of foreign wars is a regular thing for Quilts of Honor. The group hopes to honor members of the military by showing them appreciation for sacrifice and service. 	Gallery exhibit features 20 years of Emerson’s shapes and patterns The California State University, Stanislaus Department of Art is hosting an exhibit by Mark L. Emerson through the end of this week. “Twenty Years Painting” opened on Aug. 22 in the University Art Gallery and will run until Friday. 	Tibetan sand art exhibit makes way to area The creation of an ancient Tibetan art form is currently on display at the Gallo Center for the Arts. Tibetan Buddhist monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery are constructing a Mandala Sand Painting in the Center’s lobby. Work began Tuesday and will continue through Saturday.
