Man with Alzheimer’s goes missing

Anyone who has seen or locates Vidal Acevedo should call the Stanislaus County Dispatch non-emergency number at 552-2468.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in finding an elderly man with Alzheimer’s who wondered away from his Modesto home.

Vidal Acevedo, 76, is believed to have walked away from his home on Avalon Avenue. He was last seen around 8:15 a.m. Monday.

Sgt. Keith Rakoncza said Acevedo is considered to be in good health and is capable of walking long distances. Family members stated Acevedo believes he is in Mexico and he only speaks Spanish.  He had also walked away the day prior and was located near Modesto High School by local law enforcement. 

Acevedo is a Hispanic male adult, 5 feet, 8 inches tall and about 150 pounds with brown hair, brown eyes, and a brown and gray moustache.  He was last seen wearing a green shirt, green pants and black shoes.
