Melissa Ann Flores and James Oscar Anderson are excited to be planning a June 15, 2013 wedding.

The couple met in 2000 while they were both working at San Jose State University. The two began dating in 2010. Anderson proposed in February at Il Forniao, an Italian restaurant in downtown San Jose, a few blocks from where the couple first met.

Flores graduated from Gilroy High School in 1996. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology and media studies from Pitzer College, and a master’s in print journalism, from the University of Southern California’s Annenberg School for Communication. She is the city editor of the Hollister Free Lance and has worked for Main Street Media Group for seven years. Flores is the daughter of Richard and Victoria Flores, of Gilroy.

Anderson graduated from Turlock High School in 1996. He has a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering from San Jose State University. He works as a programmer/analyst at San Jose State University, where he has been employed for 13 years. Anderson is the son of John Anderson, of Modesto, and Kathy Lancaster, of Mariposa.

The couple plan to be wed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gilroy with family and close friends in attendance, with a reception to follow at Guglielmo Winery’s Villa Emile Event Center in Morgan Hill.
