What was deemed a suspicious device found outside the police department at the California State University, Stanislaus prompted a call to the county bomb squad, but turned out to be just an electronics device.

The item was found around 1:30 p.m. Friday on the university campus by a facilities worker. The item was directly across from the university police department and prompted a temporary evacuation order for all those in the building.

A perimeter was established around the area and roads were closed with the assistance of the Turlock Fire Department.

The Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department bomb squad responded to the area and using their robot determined the item was not dangerous.

The entire incident lasted about two and a half hours.
