The Oklahoma police officer accused of taking a 15-year-old girl from the Turlock home of her grandparents has been fired from his job and is facing a kidnapping charge in Stanislaus County.

Danniel Boone Morgan II, 30, is being held at the Clark County Jail following his arrest Thursday morning at a Las Vegas hotel. He will likely face extradition to Stanislaus County, where the district attorney’s office has filed a charge against him for kidnapping to commit robbery/rape/etc.

Morgan was fired from his position as a police officer with the Kiowa Police Department following his arrest, according to the Las Vegas Sun.

Morgan is accused of kidnapping Alexis Odisho, a 15-year-old girl who was in Turlock visiting her grandparents. She was reported missing Wednesday.

Early into the case investigators learned Odisho had left the area with Morgan and that she did so of her own volition, said Turlock Police Sgt. Stephen Webb.

It’s unknown how Odisho and Morgan know each other or how they initially met. They are friends on Facebook, according to her profile.

Investigators had reason to believe the pair may have been headed to Bakersfield, Las Vegas or Oklahoma and contacted authorities in those regions to be on the lookout for the two and the black 2013 Ford Mustang Morgan was driving.

Early Thursday morning the two were tracked to a hotel room at Treasure Island in Las Vegas, where Morgan was taken into custody.
