A student headed to school in Denair on a bike was hit by a vehicle Thursday morning.

The student, who was not identified, was taken by air ambulance to a hospital for treatment.

The collision occurred in the south corner of the intersection of Lester Road and W. Monte Vista Avenue.

Accidents in this area are investigated by the California Highway Patrol, but as of press time they had not responded to calls for information.

Denair Unified School District Superintendent Aaron Rosander confirmed the child hit was a student at a Denair school.

“Though I have not received official word on the student’s condition, the injuries are not believed to be life threatening,” Rosander said in an email.
