Drive-up robbery suspect sought
police tape

The Turlock Police Department is seeking information on an armed robbery suspect who stayed in his vehicle while committing the crimes.

The first robbery attempt happened around 3:30 a.m. Sunday in the 3000 block of Cajun Lane.

A silver Honda pulled up next to a woman and the male driver pointed a gun at her. The man demanded the woman throw her wallet in the car, but she said she didn’t have one, said Turlock Police spokesman Sgt. Russ Holeman.

The suspect then demanded her cell phone, but the woman refused and the suspect drove away.

About 20 minutes later the Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Department took a report from a man who had a similar experience. The man said a silver Honda pulled up next to him and pointed a gun at him. The suspect told the man to toss in his wallet and the man complied. The robber then drove away.

The only description of the man was that he was Hispanic. The firearm was believed to be an assault rifle, Holeman said.
