A Turlock man involved in a minor traffic accident was arrested Wednesday for hit and run and cocaine possession.
Shortly before 9 p.m. Wednesday Mario Ramirez-Lopez, 22, was driving his vehicle eastbound on Fulkerth Road when he sideswiped another vehicle when he attempted to make a lane change, according to the Turlock Police Department.
Instead of stopping, Ramirez-Lopez fled the scene, but the victim continued to follow his vehicle and contacted the police.
Ramirez-Lopez was stopped in the area of W. Hawkeye Avenue and Golden State Boulevard and was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor hit and run and for driving without a license.
After he was taken into custody officers searched Ramirez-Lopez’s car and allegedly found cocaine in the vehicle. A count of possession of cocaine was added to Ramirez-Lopez’s charges.
