Drunk driving enforcement efforts

The Turlock Police Department Traffic Unit will be conducting a DUI/Drivers License checkpoint at an undisclosed location within the city limits along with several special DUI Roving Saturation Patrols during the remaining days of November.

A DUI/Drivers License checkpoint in Ceres is set from 8 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday.

A DUI/Drivers License Checkpoint in Patterson is set from 8 p.m. Saturday to 2 a.m. Sunday.

Roving DUI Saturation patrols will be deployed throughout the county between the hours of 8 p.m. and 2 a.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

The California Highway Patrol also will be conducting a maximum enforcement period during the Thanksgiving weekend. The enforcement efforts begin at 6 p.m. tonight and continue through 11:59 p.m. Sunday.

“During the holiday season many people are in a hurry and eager to get to their destination,” said CHP Commissioner Joe Farrow. “It’s important to remember that safety should never take a back seat; be safe, pay attention to the road, never drink and drive, and always buckle up.”
