Father and son charged with weapon offenses

A stop for a traffic violation Tuesday night led to the arrest of a father, his 14-year-old son and another adult on weapon and parole violation charges, the Turlock Police Department reported.

Christopher Amant Sr., 44, his 14-year-old son, and Donald Bell were all in a vehicle that was pulled over in the area of N. Minaret Avenue and S. Palm Street.

Amant and Bell were both on parole and were subject to search. During the search a sawed-off shotgun was discovered, as well as brass knuckles.

The 14-year-old was arrested for possession of the brass knuckles. Amant was charged with possession of the sawed-off shotgun and a parole violation. Bell was arrested for a parole violation.
