A Turlock man was arrested for multiple offenses after leading Turlock Police officers on a short vehicle pursuit Friday night.

The incident began around 10:51 p.m. Friday when an officer on Lander Avenue spotted a vehicle that failed to stop at a red light while turning onto Linwood Avenue.

A traffic stop was initiated, but the driver, later identified as Michael Tucker, 34, of Turlock, failed to stop and tried to flee from the officer.

A pursuit was initiated as Tucker drove through two stop signs at a moderate speed on East Linwood Avenue, said police spokesman Sgt. Michael Parmley.

Tucker then had a change of heart and decided to give up and yielded in the area of S. First Street and Golf Road.

Tucker was arrested and booked into Stanislaus County Jail on charges of felony pursuit, driving on a suspended license, and for a misdemeanor warrant.
