A man taking his dog for a walk in Turlock Monday night was confronted by an armed robber, who ripped a gold chain from the man’s neck.

The incident happened around 10:45 p.m. Monday in the 1400 block of Palm Street.

The victim, who is in his mid 30s, told Turlock Police officers he was out walking his dog when a man got out of a parked car and pointed a gun at him. The victim said the weapon was a black or gray handgun.

The robber demanded the victim’s wallet and cash, but the victim said he had neither of those items on him, said Turlock Police spokesperson Officer Steve Rodrigues.

In response the robber ripped a gold chain off the victim’s neck and then got back in the vehicle and left the area.

The suspect was described as a white male adult in his mid 20s with blond facial hair. He left in a gray newer model Toyota Camry or Corolla.

There were no injuries reported from the robbery.
