The Turlock Police Department is investigating an attempted homicide after a man showed up at a local hospital with a stab wound to his back.

The case is proving to be quite a mystery, because the victim says he has no idea who wielded the knife.

The stabbing occurred in the 100 block of S. Tully Road around 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

The victim told investigators he was walking down the street when an unknown assailant came behind him and stabbed him in the back.
